The Woodlands Landscape Design

To create a successful Landscape design plan in The Woodlands, TX. You need to take into account the amount of light your property receives. The Woodlands tends to be a very shady area. Therefore your design should incorporate plants that are best suited to that environment.

You need to follow a shade landscape plan and make your plant selections fit the environmental conditions in your planting bed. Planning before planting is the hallmark of effective landscape design.

Plant failure in landscaping is often due to a plant's being situated somewhere in the yard where it doesn't belong. We fall in love with a plant at the nursery and buy it, without thinking in terms of the plant's sunlight requirements -- and whether or not we can meet those requirements in our yards. After bringing the plant home, we plant it where there's space available, rather than in a spot conducive to the plant's health.

The stage is set for play and R&R with this backyard. The landscape and pool work together perfectly and our clients could not agree more. The most challenging aspect of this project was permitting. The ELI team has the experience and staff to handle the most difficult permitting requirements.

Woodlands Paradise

We renovated this property in early 2016. Renovation projects can be very difficult. The challenge is to find elements within an existing landscape that add value to a new solution while not letting the unsuccessful elements remain. Our clients are super happy with our design and execution and are spending more time outdoors. I find it incredibly rewarding to use landscaping to create positive change in our clients lives.

Grand Lake Estates Residence

The E.L.I. team delivered this project just in time for Christmas 2015. Our client asked for us to design/build a terrace and garden set among the numerous existing trees. The additional request for no steps to be included in our solution provided a bit of a challenge because of existing grade.
Prior to the start of construction, understory vegetation was removed for sunlight penetration. All trees 4" or greater in caliper were preserved. To accomplish the goals of our client we proposed a 700SF terrace finished with Belgards Urbana Stone in brittany beige. Incorporated into the terrace are boulders for a more natural feel, a seating area for large enough for a table with chairs, and a nook for a stand alone fire place. The garden is designed with highly deer resistant plants that include 2 of my favorites, Orange Drop Iris and Vintage Jade. The result is low maintenance garden and terrace that is just as enjoyable to view from inside the home as it is to use the new space to spend an afternoon outside with family and friends.

Gary Glen Residence #2

The E.L.I. team was contacted in January 2015 to design and construct a complete landscape renovation. Our client asked for us to punch up the the curb appeal in the front yard, work with existing materials to the greatest extent possible, incorporate a synthetic putting green in the backyard, and add a landscape lighting system. The design process took 4 weeks and construction began February 2015. We teamed up with Southwest Greens of Houston to install the synthetic putting green and FX Luminaire for landscape lighting fixtures and control. As a surprise for our client we upgraded all accent lighting fixtures to Color LED to launch one of the first FX Luxor ZDC lighting systems in the country. The result is a highly sustainable solution that looks as if it was the original landscape installed on the property and a killer lighting system. Stay tuned for pictures of the landscape lights in operation.
