Landscape Architecture is the link that ties architecture into its surroundings, the visual that screens the essential piping systems, and the voice that speaks for Mother Nature. It is like an enormous puzzle with a million different pieces to put together. The combination of architecture, civil engineering, topography, existing trees, soil types, amenities, pedestrian spaces, vehicular spaces, sustainability, code requirements, budget, aesthetics and at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the client satisfaction.
At ELI land design we are landscape architects and we welcome your challenge. We know no two sites are the same and that is what makes this job so unique. Creating a site specific design to each client’s requests and then exceed their expectations is our goal. We are designers with the skills and experience to know how to do it right the first time. With our vast experience in a variety of project sectors and roles in the design process we can produce a design that is ideal for your site and cohesive with your budget.
We believe time is a critical ingredient for any project, and proper planning minimizes the time in executing a project. At ELI land design we are organized and efficient. ELI knows the importance of open lines of communication with all parties involved in a project which helps to keep things running on track and move the project forward in the shortest possible time frame.
Additionally, the staff at E.L.I. has the education, experience, and certifications necessary to offer specialized services including preparing construction and permit documentation for various regulatory agencies and have a long successful history of working with other design professionals to help meet our client’s goals. Currently we are registered in Texas and Florida and are CLARB certified to get licensure in over forty states depending upon the site requirements. Our staff's experience spans the globe as well with previous projects in the Bahamas, Dubai, Kuwait, and other locations around the world.
PlanningThe master plan is the target for what you are trying to physically and financially achieve for your site. E.L.I. land design’s master plans help the client foresee the overall concept at the beginning in a clear and concise graphic representation. This is important at the initial phase of design to see the step-by-step plan for implementation and allow accurate cost estimates so all parties stay on the same page throughout the process. Such plans, regardless of the size of a project, provide the proper foundation for a successful design.
Site Redevelopment
Sometimes existing sites could use a little face lift. Implementing change can be difficult but if things aren’t working it might be time to update your site. If your property is ready for an update we would be honored to help you give it a new identity. ELI land design has helped others in the past. For example we worked closely with an apartment complex that had multiple vacancies and needed a new façade to help clean up the site and give it more appeal to a higher end clientele. ELI worked with a park that had run down unused tennis courts and needed a better use of space as well as a commercial property owner who had poor drainage and dying plant materials costing him a fortune in maintenance fees. In the recent times more and more are sites that are spending too much on landscape maintenance and irrigation costs. You’d be surprised what some drought tolerant planting will save in the long run for water and maintenance.
One of the benefits of utilizing ELI land design is being able to utilize our construction services. If you are in the Houston area it is beneficial to your bottom line to not only design with us but to construct as well. A lot of our lessons on drought tolerant plantings, insect manifestations, soil types, and detailing come from our direct construction experience. When you have to put a warranty on something you learn what works. Most designers design on what looks good and form always follows function for ELI land design. There is also the cost savings of designer’s construction administrative fees which are waived in the instance you go with us for construction. ELI land design also can turn things around quickly with the elimination of change orders and additional paperwork from the landscape architect to the contractor for changes in the field due to unforeseen site conditions. If there is a change that needs to be made it is between ELI and the client and doesn’t need the scheduling for a third party designer. Time equals money and this helps everyone’s bottom lines.
