The E.L.I. team delivered this project just in time for Christmas 2015. Our client asked for us to design/build a terrace and garden set among the numerous existing trees. The additional request for no steps to be included in our solution provided a bit of a challenge because of the existing grade.
Prior to the start of construction, understory vegetation was removed for sunlight penetration. All trees 4″ or greater in caliper were preserved. To accomplish the goals of our client we proposed a 700SF terrace finished with Belgards Urbana Stone in Brittany beige. Check a useful link here. Incorporated into the terrace are boulders for a more natural feel, a seating area for large enough for a table with chairs, and a nook for a stand alone fire place. The garden is designed with highly deer resistant plants that include 2 of my favorites, Orange Drop Iris and Vintage Jade theinspectorscompany.com. The result is low maintenance garden and terrace that is just as enjoyable to view from inside the home as it is to use the new space to spend an afternoon outside with family and friends.
